Where Rectoly's settings are on each system, what each group holds, and which page of this guide explains it.

Open Settings

  • Mac · iPadPress the gear at the bottom of the library sidebar, or ⌘,. In a paper, the gear at the top left opens the reader's own settings.
  • WindowsClick the gear at the top right, or press Ctrl+,.

Settings are kept on each device; they do not travel through Mendeley or Zotero like your annotations do.

Mac · iPadThe reader's settings (the gear in a paper) have Display (how papers open, two-pane arrangement, left-handed controls), Annotations & ink, Toolbar, Export (citation key format) and iCloud & sync (annotation sync and conflicts). Language

Rectoly is available in 20 languages.

  • Windows · Mac · iPadChoose it in Settings › General › Language. Use System Language follows your device.

Appearance

  • Appearance chooses light, dark or the system setting for the whole app.
  • Darken PDF pages turns the pages of the PDF dark too, whatever the app appearance is.
  • Reading Mode appearance (Follow app / Light / Dark) changes only the Reading Mode surface. See Reading Mode.
