Rectoly — Refund Policy

Last updated September 16, 2026

Rectoly is developed by Hawk Eye. This policy explains how refunds work for Rectoly for Mendeley and Rectoly for Zotero. Who handles a refund depends on where you bought the app.

Try it before you buy

Every feature of Rectoly is free for 14 days. The trial never turns into a charge on its own: you pay only if you choose to make the one-time purchase. Please use the trial to check that Rectoly works with your library and your device.

Purchases on our website (Windows and Mac)

The desktop versions of Rectoly are sold through our online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for these orders: it processes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, issues your receipt, and returns the money when a refund is approved.

What a refund changes

A purchase of Rectoly for Mendeley unlocks the app on every device where you sign in with the same Mendeley account. When a website purchase is refunded, that unlock is removed from all of those devices — Windows, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android. A separate purchase you made in the App Store or on Google Play is not affected. Your documents and annotations stay in your Mendeley or Zotero account.

Purchases in the App Store or on Google Play

Purchases made on iPad, iPhone or Android are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds for them are decided by that store under its own policy. We cannot issue these refunds ourselves.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under the consumer-protection law of the country where you live. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with a right of withdrawal, that right applies in addition to this policy.
